Happiness Week Day 1

It is another wonderful day outside! Sunny, cool breeze and the scent of freshly mowed grass is drifting through the windows. If it didn't aggravate my allergies so much, it would be perfect! ;)

This week is going to be "Happiness Week". What little things in your life make you happy each day?

I have a whole list of them. It doesn't take much to make me happy sometimes. For example:

* smelling the wild roses growing near my front porch
* watching the sun rise and set each day
* seeing the clouds roll by on a rainy day
* my daughter when she rolls out of bed, hair defying gravity, staggering around trying to get completely woke up
* a clean house
* freshly laundered towels
* a soft pillow to lie on while reading a book
* a good book!
* listening to the birds chirping
* watching the trees dancing in the wind
* brightly-colored butterflies flitting by and tiptoeing over the spring flowers
* my rosary beads
* blessing myself with holy water
* my kitty Shebo curled up beside me, purring away as he drifts off to sleep
* laughing a LOT
* a sink full of suds and bubbles
* my sweet baby niece giggling
* an afternoon nap
* sweet tea
* a walk through the neighborhood after dinner
* honeysuckle vines behind the apartment
* walking on soft green grass
* petal-pink nail polish
* jasmine-scented perfume
* snapping photographs with my digital camera
* my family
* music
* watching cartoons (hey, I never said I was going to grow up!)

The list could go on and on! There is so much to be happy about and be thankful for. It doesn't have to be costly ~~ in fact, as the saying goes, the best things in life are free!

I challenge all of you to write down TEN THINGS that make you happy each day. Think about it. It can be something as simple as a cup of coffee in the morning. Can't wait to read your posts! =oD (And if you DO take me up on this challenge, drop me a line and let me know!)

God Is Good, All the Time

Most compassionate Jesus, You are the Light of the whole world. Receive into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart the souls of those who do not believe in God and of those who as yet do not know You. Let the rays of Your grace enlighten them that they, too, together with us, may extol Your wonderful mercy; and do not let them escape from the abode which is Your Most Compassionate Heart.

Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon the souls of those who do not believe in You, and of those who as yet do not know You, but who are enclosed in the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. Draw them to the light of the Gospel. These souls do not know what great happiness it is to love You. Grant that they, too, may extol the generosity of Your mercy for endless ages. Amen.

I saw this gorgeous prayer on my Facebook newsfeed earlier and loved it so much, I decided to share it. (Because I loves ya just that much. *wink*) We should all try and pray this for the conversion of all souls!

Today is a gorgeous day, albeit a bit warm already. The kidlet is still snoozing peacefully in her room, the cat is snoozing peacefully in *my* room, the clothes are drying peacefully in the dryer and Judge Alex is peacefully making his ruling on my television. You wish you were here, right? ;) In all seriousness, it's a good day so far and with God's grace it will continue to be good!

I've been looking online at chapel veils and there are so many pretty ones out there! Some people have such talent for making beautiful things!

Ah, I believe my Miss Teen Angst has awakened and is ready for breakfast (lunch? It's lunch TIME but she considers it breakfast anyway, haha!) so I'll wrap this up. I hope everyone has a wonderful day ahead!
